The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026 (PMIF26) will be held on November 12-13 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, according to ProPakistani and The Nation. It will bring together policymakers, local and international mining executives, investors, financial institutions and technical experts to explore investment in Pakistan's minerals sector.

The forum is organised by the Government of Pakistan and endorsed by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) is the founding partner. ProPakistani reported that PMIF26 follows PMIF25 and will focus on turning dialogue into investment, partnerships and projects across mineral exploration, processing and sustainable mining.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are among the key speakers. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik will give the welcome address on the opening day, and OGDC MD/CEO Ahmed Hayat Lak, who is President of PMIF, will give the closing remarks.

International speakers include John L. Thornton, Robert Friedland, Patrick Barnes, Wael Jaber, Isabel Chatterton, Claire Alidenes and Mustafa Aksoy. Representatives of the World Bank Group, Reko Diq Mining Company, Lazard, Weir, Milbank and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources will also speak.

The two-day conference will cover investor-ready mining jurisdictions, critical minerals, financing for early-stage exploration, workforce development, women's participation in mining and next-generation mining projects.

A technical conference will feature more than 50 peer-reviewed technical papers, geological survey data, technology benchmarking and a workshop on innovation potential in critical minerals mining. An international exhibition will include a Mineral Expo of rare mineral specimens, project showcases, procurement briefings and a European Pavilion.

Strategic partners include PPL, Mari Energies, GHPL, Reko Diq Mining Company, PMPL and the Frontier Works Organization. Wood Mackenzie is lead conference producer, and Milbank, White & Case and Lazard are knowledge partners. The 2025 edition brought together 5,000 delegates from more than 50 countries, with 16 memoranda of understanding and agreements and 18 panel discussions.

Ahmed Hayat Lak said: "PMIF26 provides an important platform to connect Pakistan's mineral potential with global investment, expertise and technology." He said OGDC is already a joint venture partner in the Reko Diq project and wants to expand its footprint in minerals and mining through cooperation with global partners.
