How we verify news

The rules every khabr.pk story must pass before it is published.

Every story on khabr.pk passes the same checks before it is published.

Two independent sources

At least two outlets with different owners must report the same event, and at least one of them must be an official body, a wire service or an established newsroom. Outlets owned by the same group count as one.

Or one official source

In science, technology, AI and markets, a single official source is enough when it speaks for itself: a space agency announcing a mission, a company announcing its own product, a regulator publishing a decision.

The facts must agree

We compare the reports. If they disagree on key facts such as numbers, names or places, the story is held for a person to check instead of being published.

Sensitive subjects wait for a person

Stories touching Pakistani politics, the armed forces and security, terrorism in Pakistan, courts, accusations against named people or companies, money advice or health claims are never published automatically. An editor reviews them first.

Sources on every story

Each article lists the outlets it is based on, with links, so you can read the original reports.
