The operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.

Security sources said the incident began when militants tried to set up a blockade while taking two women with them in the area. Security forces pursued the fleeing militants, and an exchange of fire followed in which one militant was killed.

The sources said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the dead militant. They added that clearance operations were continuing in the area to locate and eliminate other militants.
